Today I have a rare non nail polish related post. I don't do them often but this was a program I couldn't pass up. Recently SheSpeaks teamed up with Lancôme to do a product test with some bloggers. (To find out more about SheSpeaks visit www.shespeaks.com) I was able to sign up for it and was provided a free bottle of DreamTone. The opinions here are all my own.
We were to include a #bareselfie in this program which I will attach here.
It's not great, but it's me. We were then to try the product for four weeks and provide a #bareselfie to show the results.
First let's talk about the product itself. DreamTone is a customized skin tone correcting serum. It comes in three shades. The following information is direct from www.lancome.com:
I was provided with the Fair Skin Tone color as I am very very fair skinned. I primarily used this in the morning under my makeup. This provides no color coverage as it is very very sheer. I can tell that my skin looks a bit better. I will keep using it and I will try to get it on EVERY night. I have had a bad habit lately of falling asleep really early and not taking my makeup off. I was pleased with the look and feel of this. When I wore it under my makeup I felt my skin looked better. I wouldn't purchase this based on the price alone. I feel there are better alternatives for a better price. In other words, it was nice but didn't blow me away. Here is my after shot
Now let's talk about the packaging. This product probably has the worst product design ever. The pump pops up from the top of the container when you turn the triangular top. In addition to this, there is no screw off cap on this. So when you get down to the bottom, that's it. There will be no getting the last drop out. This bottle is $98, if I were to purchase this I would want every bit I could get at this price. I had to be sent a second tube of DreamTone because no matter what I did, I could not get the product to come out of the tube. I pumped that darn tube forever. No dice. When I realized I couldn't take the top off I knew I needed to contact SheSpeaks. They were fabulous to work with and I ended up getting a second tube, which actually worked. So, if you purchase this, you may want to test it out at the Lancome counter to make sure it works. I know I wasn't the only one with this issue.
So, this is my honest review. Is it all sparkling rainbows and unicorns? No. I don't think this is a horrible product. But it's $98 for 1.3 OUNCES!!!!! If you have the money to buy it, then more power to you. I have found that other products have worked better for me. It probably just has something to do with my skin specifically. I hope that you and everyone else can appreciate my honesty. I am glad I was able to try it out, even it wasn't for me.
