Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer April Showers Collection Review

Press Sample

Is everyone ready for the weekend??!!??  I know I am.  I'm not working this Saturday, so YAY!

Today's post is part of an upcoming collection from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer.  I have been friends with the owner Julie for a bit and have been impressed with how hard she has worked on her brand and watched her build it into something amazing.

The collection that I have part of is called April Showers and showcases six pastel polishes that are all packed with something special.  The three that I was sent all have some amazing shimmer to them.  You may expect that these are going to be just plain pastels, but they are not!

This collection will go live on Sunday April 27 at 3:30 est at   The polishes that I have pictured today all retail for $8.50 for a full sized bottle.

Let's get to it!

First up is Cherry Blossom, this was opaque in two coats.  I was so surprised! I thought for sure it was going to take more but I was happy with two.  Julie describes this as a pastel pink crelly with a teal to purple shift.  No complaints on the formula.

I tried very hard to get the shimmer to show in the pictures.  I used multiple backgrounds to try to get the lighting to show the shimmer.  I feel that you can see some of the teal in there.  It really is SO pretty in real life.  All of them are.

I did a base of Duri Rejuvacote, two coats of Cherry Blossom and I topped it with Glisten and Glow HK Girl topcoat.

This is my surprise favorite of the trio I was sent.  This is Lady Slipper.  This is described as a mint green creme with a blue to purple shift.  You can actually see some of the blue shift in these pictures. The formula was great, I just used three thin coats to achieve this look.  I used the same Rejuvacaote and HK Girl combo for this as well (like that's a surprise anymore, that's always what I use!)

Last up is Purple Phlox (Phlox is such a fun word!) This is described as a purple creme with blue to purple iridescent micro glitter.  I wore this for two days and it was so beautifully springy!

You can really see the micro glitters there in the bottle, they are there in person. They were, of course, being stubborn and didn't want to be caught on film.

I used three thin coats for this as well over Rejuvacote and under HK Girl.

All in all I was so impressed with the polishes.  I think I need to go buy Hydrangea once they go on sale.  It is a pastel blue with tons of shimmer and I feel like I need it in my life.

Now that I have a bunch of BEGLs (Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers)  I need MORE!!!!

Do you have a favorite??

Make sure you check out her store on Sunday the 27th at 3:30 pm set
