Hi guys and HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!! My days have been totally off this week and it doesn't feel like Wednesday at all. At different points in my day I kept thinking it was Tuesday. Thank goodness it's not!
Today I have a review of a new to me brand, ALIQUID Lacquer. I have seen it around but never actually tried them. I was sent four polishes to review and I am so impressed with them. They have a new collection out called The Two Pleasant Peninsulas: A love letter to the state of Michigan! I have three polishes from this collection and also one creme polish from a previous collection.
As you may have figured, all the polishes from the Two Pleasant Peninsula collection are based on Michigan. I have never been to Michigan, but I love to travel so hopefully someday. I would love to see all 50 states at some point. Although I don't know how I will see Hawaii or Alaska as I hate to fly.
Anyway....let's get to the polish.
First up is Cherry Festival. This is the description provided: "A bubblegum pink crelly with red and silver-green hexes, plus gold shimmer and flecks. Two coats recommended. Michigan produces more sour cherries than any other U.S. state (sour cherries are the kind used in pies and preserves). Every July, Traverse City holds a cherry festival that attracts over 500,000 visitors!" This was so pretty and perhaps my favorite from the three from the collection. SO dainty and pretty. It was easy to apply and this is three thin coats topped with Glisten and Glow HK Girl topcoat.
Next is Yooper, which is described as "A dark green jelly full of flecks of green, blue, gold and brown, plus holographic sparkle. Two to three coats recommended. Inspired by the wild forests, cold lakes and mountains of the Upper Peninsula. "Yooper" is an affectionate term for residents of "the U.P." When I was going through and cropping my pictures I realized I didn't have as many pictures of this as I thought I did. So I am sorry there is less of this one. It was so super pretty though. As you can tell there is so much sparkle in it. This one will be perfect for fall. There was so much depth to this, I mean look at all those sparkly colors in there. I only needed two coats and I have it topped with HK Girl.
The last polish from the Two Pleasant Peninsulas collection is Wolverine Loves Spartan. This is a lovely glitter mix in a white crelly base. This is their description " A white crelly with matte green, blue and yellow hexes. Two coats recommended. This polish combines the colors of Michigan's two largest universities, Michigan State and the University of Michigan. They may be rivals in real life, but they work together in perfect harmony on your nails!". On the index, middle and pinky finger I have three coats of Wolverine Loves Spartan by itself, on the ring finger I have two coats over one coat of white. I wanted you to be able to see what it would look like both ways. I like it both with and without undies. This mani is topped with Glossy Glam from Rica.
Last up us Sexy Sadie from the Chorus of Creme Collection. Man is this polish sexy. I mean seriously. This one could have been a ONE COATER. I used two but it could have easily been on had I been more careful. This color looks like it was just made for my skin tone. It's just SO BEAUTIFUL. Here is their description: "A medium dusty red creme with cool brown undertones. Opaque in two coats." I see myself wearing this over and over and over. GAH, so pretty. I have this topped with Glossy Glam.
In my box there was also a lip balm in the flavor Chocolate Cherry Fudge. They say: "This scent reminds me of the amazing fudge handmade on Mackinac Island! In addition to our usual ingredients, this balm also contains cocoa butter, which adds its own natural chocolatey fragrance." When I first opened it I could really smell the chocolate, but after I put it on you could really smell the cherry in it too. I have only used it a couple times but I am a fan so far. It's not greasy feeling at all and my lips feel nice and moisturized.
All in all this was a great introduction to the brand and I would have no hesitation in ordering from them. I may need to get more of those creme polishes!!!
What do you think of these polishes??
