Trash Talk Part One

Hey there!!!!

Today's post is going to be a tad bit unconventional.  I watch a lot of YouTube videos and I love it when my favorite YouTubers do empties videos.  If you aren't familiar with empties videos, they are essentially videos that show all the products that they have used up and they give mini reviews on them. So I figure I would do a blogging version of one!

I LOVE bath and beauty products.  I also LOVE subscription boxes.  This means one thing....lots and lots and lots of tiny products for me to try.  I am trying very hard to use them up, and doing a good job of it.  What I have here is just a small portion of my empties.  I've been saving them up for a while so I could do a couple posts.  Plus I love to shop so I have a lot of stuff I have bought as well.

Sadly some of these minis I don't remember where I got them.  I subscribe to Ipsy and Birchbox.  For a while I had Glossybox as well.

First up:

Ulta Acetone: (Purchased in store)  I liked it.  It worked just fine.  If I had an Ulta near me I would repurchase it.  I have since repurchased some acetone from Target.

Neutrogena Pre Refining Cleanser:  (Got this is an Allure Beauty Box) Meh.  I really didn't care for this and I would not repurchase it.  One of the weird things I didn't like about it....when it got near my nose it was nothing but bubbles.

Sebastian Volupt Spray: (Got in a subscription box)  I LOVED this.  I used it all up and then I went and bought THREE full sized bottles of it.  You shake it up and spray it on your wet hair. Dry as usual and it will give you wonderful volume.  I use it on my curly hair and it makes it look amazing.

Bath and Body Works Shower Gel: (Purchased in store) Love this stuff.  I always buy a ton of stuff from there.  Great scents, great product.  This one was in Merry Marshmallow Kiss, a nice sweet scent. Have already repurchased more of these (just not in this scent)

John Frieda Frizz Ease: (Purchased in Store) I have curly frizzy hair and this stuff is fantastic.  A couple pumps of this and it works wonders.  Would repurchase again.

Ole Henricksen truth serum: (Received in subscription box)  This was nice.  It's a Vitamin C serum.  I used it in the mornings after I washed my face.  I don't feel compelled to purchase it.  I have a ton of other serums to work through and this one doesn't standout it me.

Antica Farmacista Shower Gel: (Received in a Birchbox)  I really like it!  Not enough to spend $25 to buy more.

100% Pure Gingerade Shower Gel: (Received in a Birchbox)  I HATED this stuff.  It was like water and had no real scent.  Would not buy.

Fortune Cookie Soap Native Nectar Shower Gel: (Received in a FCS Soap Box)   It was nice.  Would not repurchase because I can get shower gel just as good for less money.

Erno Laslo Velvet Night Cream: (Received in a subscription box) Only had one use so I really don't know how well it works.

Kiehl's Rosa Artica Eye Cream: (Received in a subscription box) I didn't notice much of a change with this one.  Wouldn't purchase.

Kate Somerville Cytocell Serum: (Received in a subscription box) Meh on this one as well.  Wouldn't purchase.

Orlane Thermo Active Firming Serum: (Received in a subscription box)  Didn't notice anything with this one either.  Wouldn't purchase.

V Beauté Buying Time and Lite Up: (Received in a subscription box)  Neither of these samples contained enough to tell if it worked.

This last picture is what's left of a trial collection of the 3 Step collection from Clinique.  I received this in an order from Sephora I think.  This is the cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.  This did NOT agree with my skin.  The face wash made my face feel tight. The toner was ok. But the moisturizer was the worst.  It felt like it never sunk in and my face felt greasy all day.

So there is the first installment in my empties.  I hope you enjoyed it.  I have more to share if this is something you want to see periodically.

  1. Nice post talking about all these products you tried and used up. I'm thinking of doing an empties post too since I have a box full of products I've used up, which mainly consist of skincare products. I still need to take pictures and write up the post though.

  2. I love these types of posts! I love seeing reviews of products, so I can keep an eye out for and try if I see them. :)
