It's so close to actually being spring here I just can't stand it. It's like it's taunting us. I had to scrape off all my windows this morning before I could go to work. Unbelievable. Just warm up already!!!
Anyway, I have an interesting review today. I have a new peel off base coat that has just hit the market. This one is from NYC New York Color and is called Strip Me Off Base coat. I find the name cute! I am sure that you are familiar with peel off base coats as they are all the rage right now. This one is super affordable and amazing.
I remember when OPI came out with theirs and I was clamoring to get it, and I did and I was not super happy with it. It was expensive! So when this was offered to me I knew I had to give it a try.
Strip Me Off Base Coat retails for $2.99, which is already a fraction of the cost of others on the market. You can find it at your local retailers (I saw it on the shelves at Wal Mart already!) A lot of places offer great sales on this brand so you can get it even cheaper than it already is!
Here's what you need to keep an eye out for in the stores!
Probably one of the strangest pictures I have ever taken LOL
But yes, it does in fact come off in one sheet with no issues! There was no damage to my nails either! So much WIN! (Apparently I am feeling the exclamation points tonight!)
Notes on use:
Make sure it is dry. Really dry. Before you use it. The base applies white and dries clear which indicates that it is ready for polish. If you do not make sure it's dry the base coat will remain gummy and when you go to peel off the polish, it will be gummy still, under the polish, and not have a clean release.
Also, I do not suggest getting into a steaming hot shower/bath remotely close to after finishing your manicure. Speaking from experience it made the tips of a couple nails come off. Just a bit and not too much. But the heat and moisture caused it to soften up.
All in all I was super impressed with this and plan on having it in my arsenal at all times. Because I put it on and unlike other base coats that popped off if you looked at it wrong, this one stuck tight until I was ready to take it off.
Have you seen this yet? Would you try it?
